Hospital Visitation Restrictions
Effective: Monday, October 5, 2009
In response to current flu conditions in the community, Rex Hospital is restricting visitors 12 years of age and under to all areas of the hospital, as well as our rehabilitation and nursing care centers. Rex is also restricting visitation by individuals of any age who have influenza-like symptoms. These restrictions are being put in place to protect our patients. We ask family and friends of patients to assist in our efforts to ensure the health and safety of patients they have placed in our care.
Calling all Chili Fans - its a Celebrity Chili Cook Off!
November 21
Join us Saturday night at the RBC Center to witness whose chili will reign supreme. Ten local restaurants will battle it out for the title of Chili Champion. Fans can enjoy FREE bowls of chili, courtesy of Rex, prior to the hockey game.
Mammography Controversy
Recommendations by a government task force have heated debate over when women should have a mammogram. In this WRAL-TV5 story, Rex Cancer Center oncologist Lola Olajide, M.D. urges women to continue annual mammograms beginning at age 40.
