Rex To build Outpatient Center in Holly Springs
Rex Healthcare has received approval from the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation to build a new 9,000 square-foot outpatient facility in Holly Springs, near the corner of Highway 55 bypass and Avent Ferry Road. The state approved the facility after an appeal from Rex earlier this year.
“We are very happy the state has approved our plans to expand quality health care to the citizens of Holly Springs and southern Wake County,” said David Strong, president of Rex Healthcare. “This facility will provide easier, more convenient access to medical services, state-of-the-art technology, skilled physicians and other health professionals – all under one roof.”
The facility will offer urgent care, basic lab, occupational health and radiology services, including digital mammography and bone density screenings. In addition to the outpatient center, Rex will build a new 10,000 square foot medical office building with space available for physicians and other medical practices.
“The town of Holly Springs was extremely pleased to be notified that Rex Healthcare's appeal for the Certificate of Need was approved,” said Dick Sears, mayor of Holly Springs. “The urgent care facility is much needed in Holly Springs and we look forward to working with Rex, a fine institution, as we travel down this road together. With traffic conditions getting more crowded, local access to health care needs is critical and is becoming more important every day. Welcome, Rex!”
Rex also is sharing approximately 10 acres of the property with the Town of Holly Springs for a Rex Soccer Park, which will open this weekend. The facility will allow children and families to participate in sports and other recreation activities at the site.
