Rex Named One of Nation's 50 Best Hospitals
March 1, 2011
RALEIGH, N.C. - Becker's Hospital Review has named Rex Hospital as one of the top 50 best hospitals in America. Rex Hospital was recognized for its ongoing commitment to patients' needs and investment in innovations that continue to set the bar for high-quality care. Rex Hospital is one of only three hospitals in North Carolina to receive this distinction.
"Rex Healthcare's commitment to excellence is based on providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families, and the community," said David Strong, president, Rex Healthcare. "We are honored to receive this distinction and to join the ranks of other top hospitals from across the country. We could not have achieved the recognition of ‘best in the nation' without the dedication of our Rex co-workers and physicians who work hard each day to put patient needs first."
Becker's Hospital Review evaluated hospitals on patient safety, clinical outcomes and reputation. Rex Hospital scored high in these categories and also exhibited an extensive list of achievements, including a Five Star Performer Award from Professional Research Consultants for Best Overall Quality of Care in 2010, for the third consecutive year. The list focuses on acute-care, multi-specialty academic medical centers and large community hospitals.
