Rex Sponsors 4th Annual Mix 101.5 Lipstick Luncheon

Event focused on women's health, proceeds benefited Rex Healthcare Foundation
RALEIGH, N.C. -Rex Healthcare, in partnership with Crabtree Valley Mall, sponsored the fourth annual MIX 101.5 Lipstick Luncheon Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Raleigh Marriott City Center. The sold-out event featured lunch, shopping, keynote speaker by a best-selling author, a fashion show featuring radio personalities and a question and answer session with three local female physicians.
"Rex Healthcare has supported the MIX 101.5 Lipstick Luncheon every year," said Teri deMatas, director of Marketing at Rex Healthcare. "The day provides women of all ages the opportunity to shop, network and learn valuable health information."
Rex Healthcare representatives were on hand throughout the day to answer questions and share information. An expert panel discussion focusing on women's health featured Polly Watson, M.D., OBGYN of Boylan Healthcare; Christine O'Meara, M.D. of Rex/UNC Family Practice of Panther Creek; and Grace Tang, M.D. of Rex Family Practice of Wakefield. Rex Wellness Centers also provided each attendee with a free day pass to any one of the four Wake County locations (a $10 value).
Proceeds from each ticket purchased to the Lipstick Luncheon went to benefit the Rex Healthcare Foundation, a 501(c )(3) organization which is raising funds to support the new N.C. Cancer Hospital at Rex, slated to break ground in fall 2011.
The day's keynote speaker was Celia Rivenbark, an award-winning, nationally syndicated humor columnist and best-selling author from Duplin County, NC. Notable personalities from MIX 101.5, including Lynda Loveland, Bill Jordan, Diane Ramsey and Vanna Fox, were also on hand to host the luncheon.
