Rex Mobile Mammography At Meac Tournament - Friday, March 14

The Rex Healthcare Mobile Mammography unit will be performing mammograms, onsite, at the RBC Center during the MEAC Tournament, on Friday, March 14th, from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.   Eligible women can be screened in the mobile unit, at their convenience before, during or after the games.  (See eligibility guidelines, below). Rex Healthcare and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) share a common goal of educating our community.  Health education and preventing disease are key to Rex's tradition of excellence and commitment to the community.

To be eligible for screening on Friday, March 14 during the MEAC Tournament, at the RBC Center, you must:

  • have no previous history of breast cancer
  • not have any present symptoms, such as pain, lumps or nipple discharge
  • have no breast implants or augmentation
  • not be pregnant or breast-feeding
  • be at least 35 years old for a baseline (first time) mammogram.
  • be at least 40 years old for an annual mammogram.
  • not have had a mammogram within the last 12 months
  • have a physician
  • not wear powder or deodorant, as this could affect the reading. Deodorant will be provided upon completion of the mammogram
  • check with insurance to verify coverage

The mission of our mobile mammography program is to take mammography services to areas where a need has been identified related to transportation or financial and to provide convenience to corporations and other business entities so all women can benefit from mammography’s early detection capabilities. The mobile unit travels to local businesses, churches, schools, and civic groups so all women can benefit from mammography's early detection capabilities.

The results of your test are sent to you and your personal physician. The results are kept confidential. If you require follow-up care, you and your physician will decide together the next step to take in your care.
