Professional Development
Our Pathway for Advancement in Clinical Excellence (PACE) program offers you opportunities for career advancement, personal growth, recognition, and financial rewards. By demonstrating expert knowledge and skill proficiency at designated levels, you can climb a self-initiated clinical ladder designed to take your personal and professional development to a higher level.
Educational Development and Scholarships
Orientation programs, individualized training, and custom-tailored preceptorships are provided according to your nursing area or specialty. In addition to various scholarships, including those that help pay for nursing school and higher learning, we offer hospital-based training and many other opportunities for you to further your education.
Internships/Externships
New Graduate Nursing Internships
Recent graduate nurses may be eligible to participate in a paid Rex internship beginning in February or July and lasting for one full year. The program offers participants a variety of dynamic challenges, the opportunity to work with highly qualified nursing preceptors, and provides peer support and educational opportunities. Graduates may select internship experiences in the following clinical areas: Women's & Children's, Critical Care, Intermediate Care, Emergency Services or Medical/Surgical Services. To be eligible, candidates must complete and submit an online employment application, a recent college transcript with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA, and two instructor references (click for reference form). Recent graduates must successfully pass the NCLEX prior to beginning their internship. For more information about our nursing internship program click here.
Nursing Externships
Student nurses entering their senior year of nursing school may be eligible to participate in our paid nursing externship program beginning in June. A variety of clinical areas participate in the externship program, including Women's and Children's, Critical Care, Intermediate Care, Emergency Services or Medical/Surgical Services. The program offers participants the opportunity to evaluate communication patterns, attend meetings, gain clinical experience and participate in role shadowing opportunities. Candidates must complete and submit an online employment application, a recent college transcript with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA, and two instructor references (click for reference form). In addition, a 500-word essay describing why you would like to participate in the program and what you hope to contribute to patient care during the program is required.
