Volunteering at Rex Healthcarehas been a community tradition since the 1920s. Rex Healthcare operates an adult volunteer program as well as offering service opportunities for students through a VolunTEEN program for teenagers and a college student volunteer program. All programs require an application, an interview and completion of a training course.

Rex Volunteers contribute more than 144,199 hours of service yearly throughout the Rex Healthcare system. More than 120 volunteer positions involving varied levels of skill, challenge and involvement are offered. Hours and days are flexible and training is provided, with most positions requiring a four hour per week commitment.
