Junior Invitational Allows Young Talent to Qualify for The Rex Hospital Open

WHAT:

The Rex Hospital junior invitational, presented by the Tarheel Golf Foundation, allows high school golfers to play for a chance to receive an unrestricted sponsor's exemption into the official Rex Hospital Open tournament field. The Junior Invitational is 36-holes, with tee times starting at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 5. The Tarheel Golf Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to promote junior golf in North Carolina, operating one of the largest junior golf programs in the Southeastern United States.

Last year, Raleigh's Grayson Murray, a then 16-year-old high school student won the 2010 Junior Invitational. During last year's Rex Hospital Open, Murray played exceptionally well and made the cut to play in the weekend field. Murray is scheduled to play in this year's invitational.

High school golfers from across the state.

WHEN:

Sunday, June 5, tee times starting at 6:30 a.m.

WHERE:

TPC Wakefield Plantation, located at 2201 Wakefield Plantation Drive, Raleigh, NC 27614.
