Construction Begins on Rex Healthcare's Knightdale Wellness Center

Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks the Beginning of New Wellness Center for Knightdale Community
RALEIGH, NC - Today, Rex Healthcare hosted a groundbreaking event to celebrate the beginning of construction for a new wellness center at Rex's Knightdale campus. The ceremony drew local elected officials, Knightdale residents and Rex Healthcare coworkers. Speakers included Knightdale Mayor Russell Killen and Rex Healthcare Senior Vice President of Operations and Ambulatory Care Steve Burriss.
"The groundbreaking of the new wellness center at Knightdale marks a healthy new start for the community," said David Strong, president of Rex Healthcare. "Rex Healthcare is committed to providing our patients with an extensive network of health education experts and exercise programs to help them achieve their health goals."
The new Knightdale campus wellness center will provide members with personalized training, rehabilitation and health education programs, as well as amenities including: fitness equipment, aerobic studios, swimming pool, sauna, indoor track and whirlpool. Staff will include registered dietitians, personal trainers, exercise physiologists and nationally certified fitness instructors. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2012.
"The wellness center will provide the Knightdale community access to Rex's great health services closer to home," said Burriss. "We hope this facility will encourage the eastern Wake community to stay active and healthy."
The Rex Healthcare of Knightdale campus is located at 6602 Knightdale Blvd., Knightdale, NC, 27545. Rex currently has wellness centers located in Raleigh, Cary, Garner and Wakefield.
