TPN's Rex Primary Care of Holly Springs Welcomes New Providers

RALEIGH, N.C. - Rex Healthcare is pleased to announce David B. Tsai, M.D., has joined Rex Primary Care of Holly Springs as the new medical director. Dr. Tsai will begin seeing patients Monday, Oct. 10. He will be joined by nurse practitioner Melanie Lyn Wiest, A.N.P.-B.C., on Nov. 1, further solidifying Rex's commitment to provide excellent primary care to the Holly Springs community.

"We are excited about the new care team in Holly Springs," said Bob Ricker, executive administrative director of the Triangle Physician Network. "Dr. Tsai and Ms. Wiest have a passion and excitement for working with people and the local community. We are committed to the healthcare needs of the Holly Springs community and have brought together an expert team to provide excellent patient care."

Dr. Tsai is a board certified family physician with experience practicing family medicine with Duke Primary Care, Austin Regional Clinic and Kaiser Permanente of Hawaii. Dr. Tsai also brings a rich knowledge of sports medicine, having completed a sports medicine fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Tsai completed his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and his residency in family medicine at Duke University Medical Center where he was awarded the Terry Kane Award for Excellence in Clinical Family Medicine.

Ms. Wiest joins Rex Primary Care of Holly Springs as a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Wiest received her nursing degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and earned her master's in nursing science from the University of North Carolina. Previously, Ms. Wiest served for 10 years as a clinical nursing instructor at UNC Health Care.

Rex Primary Care of Holly Springs is affiliated with Triangle Physician Network (TPN). TPN is a not-for-profit, joint effort between the University of North Carolina Health Care and Rex Healthcare to operate a regional network of physicians that supports the evolving health care needs of the region.
