Purpose
To provide practicing clinicians with an update on new treatment and prevention modalities
for a broad range of cardiovascular diseases.
Target Audience
General cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, family practice physicians, internal
medicine physicians, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, radiologic
technologist, respiratory care practitioners and other interested clinicians.
Course Objectives
The information presented at this educational activity should improve your ability to:
• Discuss Women’s heart health and gender specific treatment options
• Discuss the expanding options in anti-platelet therapy and individualizing patient
treatment
• Identify and describe current methods in lipid management
• Recognize the importance of co-managing cardiovascular disease and how it will affect
future reimbursement
• Describe the concept of regionalization of care and the efficacy of PCI without surgical
back up
• Discuss the NC RACE initiative and its proposed impact
• Identify various options for managing PVD in the out-patient setting
• Understand the role of the wound care clinic and its significance in limb salvage
• Explain the changing landscape of health care delivery in North Carolina
• Identify expanding options for aortic valve stenosis patients and who may benefit from
transcatheter aortic valve replacement therapy
• Define “renal artery denervation”.
• Identify new treatment options for resistant hypertension

Credit Statement
Ciné-Med designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA
Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent
of their participation in the activity.
Other health professionals will receive a certificate of attendance at an activity designated for
AMA PRA Category 1™ credits. These certificates are accepted by the NC
Boards for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and respiratory
therapists (License requirements are subject to change. ASRT Category A Credit is
pending approval.)
