Breast Care Team

The Rex Breast Multidisciplinary Care Program is made up of radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, oncologists, experienced clinical staff, and support staff led by the patient navigators. Your care team works with you and your primary care physician to make sure your treatment plan is best for your disease, your goals and your life style.

Radiologists
All staff physicians are fellowship trained and have completed advanced training in general diagnostic radiology.

Surgeons
Rex Surgical Specialists Breast Surgery Division provides superior surgical breast care with the latest techniques and treatments. All surgeons are members of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Pathologists
Our pathologists are highly skilled at examining tissue samples to determine if a patient is diagnosed with cancer. These experts work closely with surgeons and oncologists to determine the best treatment plan for you.

Radiation Oncologists
Rex/UNC Radiation Oncology, led by board-certified renowned physicians in the field of radiation oncology, uses the latest technologies and treatments to provide a broad scope of services and the highest quality of care to patients. 

Medical Oncologists
Rex Hematology Oncology Associates was specially created with patients in mind, offering comprehensive cancer care at a single point of contact. Our team, led by board-certified renowned physicians in the field of hematology and oncology, uses the latest technologies and treatments to provide a broad scope of services and the highest quality of care to patients.

Patient Navigators
Cancer nurse navigators offer a variety of services to patients just diagnosed with or undergoing treatment for cancer. The role of the navigator is to ensure the highest quality of care possible for patients by serving as an advocate, coordinator of patient care, liaison between patient and provider, educator, troubleshooter and resource coordinator.
