Donate for Life

In order to help ensure that there will always be a safe and adequate supply of blood available to meet the needs of our community, Rex Blood Services has made a commitment to encourage both past donors and potential donors to MAKE DONATING BLOOD A LIFESAVING HABIT.

To meet this goal, Rex Blood Services developed a donor rewards program called "Donate for Life" to help promote timely and consistent blood donations. This program allows donors to receive points for each blood donation that can then be used to redeem appreciation gifts of all kinds!

A donor earns 100 points for a whole blood donation, while an apheresis or platelet donation will earn a donor a minimum of 200 points. There will also be certain times during the year when bonus points will be awarded. The best part is "Donate for Life" points will never expire. Donors who don't have access to the internet can check their account and order their appreciation gifts by calling the donor center at (919) 784-4750 and a staff member will be happy to help.

For more information about the new "Donate for Life" rewards program call (919) 784-4750 or visit the "Donate For Life" online store.

Red Cord Program

The Rex Red Cord Program was developed to acknowledge and honor students who are graduating seniors for their desire and commitment to providing life-saving donations and supporting the community’s blood supply.

Rex cords are awarded to qualifying seniors at participating high schools where, if approved by the school, they may proudly wear the cord with their cap and gown at graduation.

If you are a senior graduating from a participating high school and would like to request a Red Cord to wear for graduation please fill out and submit the information below. A representative from Rex Blood Services will respond to your request.
