RALEIGH, N.C. - The Rex Healthcare Foundation has named Amy Daniels as its new Executive Director.

Amy has been promoted from her position as Manager of Foundation Operations.  In her new role, Daniels will have responsibility for all Foundation activities and oversee a staff of seven people. "The Rex Healthcare Foundation has a long history of supporting Rex and the people of the Triangle," Daniels said. "I am excited to continue leading the Foundation team in this new role."

Daniels will implement a comprehensive plan to cultivate philanthropic support from many sources. The plan aims to raise funds for hospital programs through increased personal relationships and a compelling portfolio of cases highlighting the invaluable care patients receive at Rex. The campaign also encourages potential donors to consider planned giving, which allows donors to make a generous gift with a lasting impact.

Founded in 1958, the Rex Healthcare Foundation supports essential programs and services at Rex. Thanks to the generosity of friends, neighbors and co-workers, the Foundation raised more than $2.3 million during fiscal year 2012.

During her seven years with the Rex Healthcare Foundation, Daniels has contributed to a shift in fundraising practices. "The Foundation's focus will remain on building strong relationships in the community and garnering support for the needs of Rex," Daniels said. "We have a great team, and I look forward to the challenge of helping to keep Rex at the forefront of the growing healthcare industry."

A graduate of N.C. State University, Daniels was Development Director for the SPCA of Wake County and Operations Manager for NC Amateur Sports before joining Rex Healthcare. Her passion and consistency make her a strong candidate to lead the Rex Healthcare Foundation.

"Amy exemplifies the leadership qualities that are characteristic of the Rex culture of excellence," said Sylvia Hackett, Vice President of the Rex Healthcare Foundation. "Her fundraising experience, knowledge of Rex and commitment to nonprofit service create the ideal combination to lead in the critical role of Executive Director."
