Rex Holly Springs 50 Bed Hospital Approved

Rex has gotten the go-ahead from state officials to build a 50-bed hospital in Holly Springs! The new hospital will complement the Rex Healthcare facility that is currently under construction at the corner of U.S. Highway 55 and Avent Ferry Road. The hospital will be adjacent to Rex's outpatient center, which will open on December 5, 2011. The addition of a hospital to our Holly Springs campus will add comprehensive services including:

• 24/7 Emergency Department
• Inpatient and Observation Beds
• Intensive Care Unit
• Birth Center
• Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery
• Cancer Center
• Full Laboratory and Pharmacy
• Radiology (including CT, Mobile MRI)
• Heart & Vascular Diagnostics

Why build a hospital in Holly Springs?

Southern Wake County has a population of about 80,000 and growing. Recent Census data shows that some of the biggest growth in Wake County is in Holly Springs and surrounding areas, including Fuquay-Varina, Apex and Cary. Rex continues to look for ways to better serve patients in this rapidly growing area, as well as those patients who travel to Rex from Harnett, Lee and Chatham counties for care.

Rex has already established a deep relationship with the town of Holly Springs. We actively support numerous organizations including the Holly Springs Cultural Center Outdoor Concert Series, Holly Springs Farmer's Market, Chamber of Commerce, HollyFest and local charitable golf tournaments.

We opened Rex Primary Care of Holly Springs in the fall of 2010 and construction is underway on our 9,000 square foot healthcare facility, scheduled to open in December 2011.  The new hospital will be conveniently located on the same property as our healthcare facility at the corner of the 55 Bypass and Avent Ferry Road, with additional easy access to highways 64, 1, 401 and the future I-540 extension.
