New Graduate Nursing Program

Next program start date: July 22, 2013

Graduates with less than six months of nursing experience may apply for opportunities in the following clinical areas: women and children's, critical care, intermediate care, emergency services, surgical services or rehabilitation and nursing care.

General Program Overview

  • Paid Staff Nursing Position
  • Candidates are eligible for internal transfer after twelve months
  •  One week hospital orientation including:  General Orientation, Clinical  Orientation, Clinical Computer Orientation and New Nurse Orientation.
  •  Three to nine month precepted learning experience
  •  Classes & workshops related to the clinical area of focus
  • Role shadowing opportunities in various clinical areas
  • Bi-weekly coaching/mentoring sessions with nursing manager
  • Monthly peer support and continuing education sessions
  • Enrollment in the Rex Center for Leadership Excellence - Compassionate  Leader Program after completion of new grad program

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be a new graduate nurse with less than six months nursing experience
  • Have a cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher (preferred not required)
  • Successfully pass NCLEX prior to the program start date
