New Graduate Nursing Program
Next program start date: July 22, 2013
Graduates with less than six months of nursing experience may apply for opportunities in the following clinical areas: women and children's, critical care, intermediate care, emergency services, surgical services or rehabilitation and nursing care.
General Program Overview
- Paid Staff Nursing Position
- Candidates are eligible for internal transfer after twelve months
- One week hospital orientation including: General Orientation, Clinical Orientation, Clinical Computer Orientation and New Nurse Orientation.
- Three to nine month precepted learning experience
- Classes & workshops related to the clinical area of focus
- Role shadowing opportunities in various clinical areas
- Bi-weekly coaching/mentoring sessions with nursing manager
- Monthly peer support and continuing education sessions
- Enrollment in the Rex Center for Leadership Excellence - Compassionate Leader Program after completion of new grad program
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be a new graduate nurse with less than six months nursing experience
- Have a cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher (preferred not required)
- Successfully pass NCLEX prior to the program start date
