Rex Healthcare Announces Rex Hospital Open Sponsor’s Exemption Players

Players will compete in this week's event on the Web.com Tour

Rex Healthcare is happy to announce that Carter Jenkins, John Kimbell, Paul Stankowski and Bubba Dickerson have been granted sponsor’s exemptions for this year’s Rex Hospital Open. Rex is very disappointed to announce that an additional Sponsor’s Exemption player, Fayetteville native David Chung, has had to withdraw from the tournament due to an injury.

Raleigh native and Leesville Road High School senior Carter Jenkins won this year’s Rex Hospital Open Junior Invitational, earning him the opportunity to compete with seasoned pros in this week’s tournament. Jenkins also won the Junior Invitational in 2011. He will attend UNC Greensboro this fall.

Georgia native John Kimbell has played on the Web.com tour since 2007, with his best finish on the tour being first place in 2007 at the South Georgia Classic. Kimbell has three career victories on the Hooters Tour and one win on the Tight Lies Tour. He currently ranks T95th in the Heat Index for the last four events on the Web.com Tour, a ranking that determines who is currently the "hottest" player in all GRI ranked events over the last 20 weeks.

Texas resident Paul Stankowski has played on both the Nationwide Tour and the PGA Tour. In 1996 he won the NIKE Louisiana Open on the Nationwide Tour and the following week, won the BellSouth Classic on the PGA Tour, becoming the only golfer in history to win Nationwide and PGA Tour events back-to-back. His best major finish was fifth at the 1997 Masters.

Bubba Dickerson, a Florida native, played previously on the PGA Tour and is currently on the Web.com Tour. After winning the U.S. Amateur in 2001, Dickerson turned pro with his best finish to date on the Web.com Tour being 1st in 2009 at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open presented by Dynamic Industries. He ranks T49 in the Top 30 Consistency for the last four events on the Web.com Tour.

Please check into the Media Center in the TPC Wakefield Clubhouse when you arrive to cover the tournament or interview any players. Media can also contact Rex Media Relations manager Alan Wolf at alan.wolf@rexhealth.com or (919) 218-7103.
