Physical Conditions Caused by Stroke

When stroke occurs, parts of the brain lose their blood supply and begin to die. Depending on the severity of the stroke and which parts of the brain are affected, a patient may have lasting physicial conditions as a result.

Some side effects may lessen with the passing of time or the help of therapies, but others may be permanent. Some of the common physical effects of stroke include:

  • Spasticity
  • Loss of balance
  • Toe curl
  • Central pain syndrome
