Red Tie Campaign to Prevent Stroke
A stroke occurs every forty seconds - that's about 795,000 strokes per year. Stroke is the third leading cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the U.S. But there is hope. Up to 80% of strokes can be prevented.
The Red Tie Campaign was created in memory of North Carolina insurance commissioner Jim Long by his family and Rex Healthcare. Commissioner Long passed away as the result of a stroke in 2009. Through the Red Tie Campaign, we want to create hope that, together, we can prevent stroke.
