Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
This non-invasive test is used to diagnose lung disease, abnormalities, the progression of disease or the extent of disability to determine the best course of treatment. The test requires breathing into a device called a spirometer to measure airflow and volume. The three most frequently performed PFTs are spirometry, lung volumes and diffusion capacity (DLCO).
