Media Invited to Rex Hospital Open Media Day for Tournament Preview
Get an exclusive preview of May’s Rex Hospital Open, talk to key participants and compete in Golf Challenge
Rex Healthcare invites local media representatives to attend the Rex Hospital Open Media Day on April 9 to preview the upcoming Web.com Tour’s Rex Hospital Open. Those attending will hear from last year’s winner Chesson Hadley, Rex Hospital Open officials and others. Additionally, media outlets are invited to compete in the Rex Hospital Open Media Day Golf Challenge – an 18-hole, foursomes event to battle for the Media Cup.
Headlining the list of speakers is 2013 Rex Hospital Open champion Chesson Hadley, whose win last year catapulted him toward earning his PGA Tour card. A Raleigh native, Hadley became a first-time winner on the PGA Tour in March when he won the Puerto Rico Open by two strokes. Other speakers and interview opportunities include: Web.com Tour President Bill Calfee, Rex Hospital Open Chairman Jimmy Talton, Tournament Director Carson Gilbert and others.
The Media Day Golf Challenge is an excellent way for media members to familiarize themselves with the tournament, golfers and charitable focus of the Rex Hospital Open before the actual event, while also providing the opportunity for a fun round of golf and competition.
Professional golfers from around the world travel to TPC at Wakefield Plantation every year to participate in the Web.com Tour’s Rex Hospital Open, taking place May 22-25. The tournament’s charitable efforts, coupled with its family and fan-friendly environment, have helped generate significant attention over the years. In the last 25+ years, Rex charity golf has raised more than $8.5 million to support programs and services at Rex Hospital. This year, proceeds benefit Rex Heart & Vascular programs and services.
Wednesday, April 9
Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by brief remarks at 8:00 a.m. The Media Cup Challenge starts around 9:15 a.m.
