Cardiac Rehabilitation

Have you suffered a heart attack? Or have you had coronary bypass surgery, an angioplasty, and/or a stent? If so, you may be anxious to recover quickly and return to a full and productive life.

Cardiac rehabilitation at UNC REX Healthcare offers medically supervised programs customized to meet each patient’s individual needs. Programs incorporate exercise, education, support, and counseling components to help patients maintain “heart healthy” lives.

Enrolling in the program is a safe and effective way to:

  • Reduce the risk of future heart problems
  • Feel better sooner
  • Feel stronger
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve overall wellness 
  • Learn how to live “heart healthy”

Interested? Before enrolling, keep in mind that:

  • Participation beings with a physician referral
  • The program lasts three months or 36 sessions (depending on your condition and your physician’s recommendation)
  • After completion of the program you will be eligible for the UNC REX Cardiac Maintenance program
  • Billing is on a per-service basis and is typically covered by major medical insurance
