• Minor burns and lacerations
• X-ray and lab services
• Eye irritation and redness

• Minor broken bones and fractures (i.e. fingers, toes)
• Skin rashes and infections
• Bug bites and stings
• Urinary tract infections
Go To The Emergency Department
Dial 911 immediately if you experience any medical problem that appears to be life-threatening.
REX Express Care is not a substitute for emergency care. In general, an emergency condition is one that can permanently impair or endanger the life of an individual.
Appropriate conditions that require emergency medical care include:
• (Signs of) Heart attack (i.e.. chest pain lasting longer than two minutes)
• (Signs of)Stroke (e.g. loss of vision, sudden numbness, weakness, slurred speech, or confusion)
• Severe chest pain or difficulty breathing
• Compound fracture (bone protrudes through skin)
• Convulsions, seizures or loss of consciousness
• Fever in newborn (less than 3 months old)
• Heavy, uncontrollable bleeding
• Deep knife wounds or gunshot wounds
• Moderate to severe burns
• Serious head, neck or back injury
• Pregnancy-related problems
• Severe abdominal pain
• Suicidal or homicidal feelings
Proper care will be provided to you at the closest emergency room. Remember, ER visits should be reserved for true emergencies, such as chest pain and severe injuries. Seemingly small injuries and illnesses will be examined by our urgent care physicians. If greater care is needed, our staff will direct patients to the proper healthcare provider, or, if it is a true emergency, we will transfer patients directly to a hospital emergency room for further treatment.

What To Expect At Your Visit
What are your operating hours?
Each of our REX Express Care locations is open seven days a week from 9am - 8pm. We are also open on holidays from 9am - 5 pm. Closed Christmas Day.
How long will my visit take?
Our primary goal is to provide prompt, accurate and professional treatment. We update our wait times throughout the day to keep our patients informed.
Can I register before I arrive?
To save even more time, you can choose a convenient arrival time based on your schedule. Our online reservation system will text you a reminder message before your scheduled visit. You can also download and complete the REX Express Care patient registration form before your visit. Please remember to bring all of your current medications when you arrive.
Is the medical staff qualified to treat me?
Yes. At REX Express Care, our highly qualified care team of physicians, advanced and mid level physician assistants and certified nursing professionals are available to help you feel better, faster.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most commercial insurance plans as well as military insurance plans. Prior to your visit, verify with your insurance provider that your visit will be covered and the estimated out-of-pocket expenses you should expect.
How will I be billed for services received?
As a REX Express Care patient, your bill will reflect the provider visit and any supplies or medication you may receive during the visit. Should laboratory services (such as blood, urine, strep test, etc) become necessary, you will receive a separate bill from UNC REX Hospital. If the REX Express Care provider orders a radiology study (X-ray), you will receive two separate bills. One bill will be from Wake Radiology for the professional reading and one from UNC REX Hospital for the technical fees, (use of the machines and technologists). This is standard radiology billing practice.
