VolunteerVolunteering at Rex Healthcare has been a community tradition since the 1920s. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of the members of our community, Rex benefits from nearly 150,000 volunteer hours each year.

Rex Healthcare offers a variety of volunteer opportunities that cater to different interests and schedules. These opportunities include an adult program, VolunTEEN program, and a college program. All programs require an application, an interview and completion of a training course.

Who Can Volunteer with Rex Healthcare

We offer volunteer programs and opportunities for individuals ages 14 to 100. Specialized programs are available for:

The Rex VolunTEEN Program gives teenagers the opportunity to contribute to the community while exploring a career in the medical field. The program provides teenagers with practical experience and practice while developing good work habits.

High school sophomores, juniors and seniors ages 14-18 may apply. After school and summer programs are available.

College Students

The Rex College and Graduate-Student Volunteer Program offers students hands-on experience while working in a professional health care environment. Placement areas may include, but are not limited to, patient care floors, food and nutrition, pharmacy, physical therapy and same-day surgery.
