Rex Healthcare Earns Top Marks in National Hospital Reports
National Research Corporation and Leapfrog Rankings Highlight Hospital Safety, Quality and Reputation 

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 23, 2013) – Rex Healthcare has earned top marks in two highly regarded national reports that grade hospitals on quality, safety and reputation. Rex has been awarded the Consumer Choice Award by the National Research Corporation and earned an “A” safety grade by the Leapfrog Group’s annual Hospital Safety Score.

  • National Research Corporation recognized Rex with its Consumer Choice Award for the 10th consecutive year. Rex is the only hospital in Wake County to earn the 2013 award and one of only 10 recipients in North Carolina.The National Research Consumer Choice Award honors the nation’s hospitals rated by consumers as having the best overall quality and reputation, and best doctors and nurses, based on asurvey of more than 270,000 households across the country. The recipients of the 2013/2014 Consumer Choice Award will be named in this month’s issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.   • Rex also was honored with an “A” grade in the Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2013 update to its Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections. The Score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by Leapfrog, an independent industry watchdog. The first and only hospital safety rating to be analyzed in the peer-reviewed Journal of Patient Safety, the Score is designed to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families.
