Since 1920, volunteers have been the lifeblood of Rex Hospital's outreach efforts. Today, Rex volunteers contribute more than 144,000 hours of service in 120 positions involving a variety of skills, challenges and levels of participation.
Rex volunteers range in age from 14 to over 90. There are 80 diverse volunteer positions, with volunteers needed daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Based on assignment, volunteer shifts run from three to four hours, and flexible scheduling is available.
Volunteer Categories
There are three volunteer categories:
Adults: Anyone over age 18 who is not in either of the programs below
College: Students pursuing higher education in any field of study
Teen Program: Students 14-18 years old
