Rex is Expanding in Wake County
Wake County is seeing unprecedented growth. Recent Census data showed our region added about 400,000 residents since 2000. Rex Healthcare has also seen unprecedented growth in this time period, opening new facilities throughout the county, serving patients on our main campus and at facilities in Apex, Cary, Garner, southeast Raleigh, Knightdale and Wakefield.
To meet our community's growing needs, Rex Healthcare has submitted three Certificate of Need (CON) applications to the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation for 101 acute care beds:
- 50-bed acute care hospital, including a birth center and cancer center at Rex's Holly Springs campus
- 40-bed acute care hospital at Rex's Wakefield campus, including a birth center and already existing cancer center.
- Add 11 beds to Rex's existing hospital in west Raleigh, and begin Rex's Vision 2030 plan by moving at least 100 beds to begin a new bed tower to be constructed on the main Rex Hospital campus in Raleigh.
Thank You to everyone who submitted letters of support for our applications! We will update you here and on our facebook page whenever we have news on the application process.
