Women's Health - Rehab services

The Rex Women's Health Program consists of a team of licensed physical therapists who provide expert, personalized care for women in all stages of life - from pregnancy through retirement. Using advanced techniques, trained staff help manage a variety of women's health problems including lower, pelvic and hip pain; muscle spasm and weakness; and lymphedema. Our goal is to treat each woman with respect and aid them in recovering from an injury or specific pain due to illness in a natural way.

Expectant and New Moms

Throughout your pregnancy your body undergoes many changes. You may find yourself experiencing a variety of pain throughout all three trimesters, including:

  • Lower back pain
  • Pelvic pain
  • Hip pain
  • Foot pain
  • Muscle spasms
  • Severe swelling
  • Abdominal separation
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Muscle weakness
  • Epidural site pain
  • Cesarean section incision pain

The licensed physical therapists with Rex Outpatient Rehabilitation have been caring for pregnant women's needs for years. Our specialists carefully evaluate your pain and work with you throughout your pregnancy to minimize discomfort.

Mature Women

Life doesn't stop at 50 and neither should you. However, as you age, your body changes and you may experience:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Posture problems
  • Hip pain
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Foot pain
  • Muscle weakness

Rex Outpatient Rehabilitation specialists know how to care for maturing women, and can work with you to ease pain, increase mobility and decrease your chance of serious injury later.

Athletes on the Go

If you are an active woman, you know sometimes only an injury will make you slow down. Common problems affecting female athletes include:

  • Knee, shoulder, ankle, and other joint pain
  • Back and neck pain
  • Tendinitis and other overuse injuries

The licensed physical therapists and licensed physical therapy assistants at Rex Outpatient Rehabilitation will work with you to see that your injuries heal correctly. Our goal is to return you to the game as soon as possible and prevent re-injury.

Cancer Survivors

The good news is there is life after cancer. The not-so-good news is that sometimes it is accompanied by new challenges to overcome, such as:

  • Limited range-of-motion following surgery
  • Pain from scar tissue
  • Muscle weakness
  • Lymphedema

Following cancer treatment, Rex Outpatient Rehabilitation specialists work with you to carefully increase your mobility and strength and minimize residual pain. Our lymphedema specialists help reduce the edema that may result from treatment. Your individual needs and goals are important to us. We want to help you enjoy your gift of a new life.
