RALEIGH, N.C. - Two of the Triangle's leading cardiothoracic surgeons have formed a new practice affiliated with Rex Healthcare. Rex Cardiothoracic Surgery Specialists is led by co-medical directors Lance E. Landvater, M.D., and Robert B. Peyton, M.D. Drs. Landvater and Peyton join Rex from Carolina Cardiovascular Surgical Associates, where for more than two decades they helped expand it into one of the region's most prestigious practices focused on performing heart bypass surgeries, heart valve replacements and other cardiac procedures.
Landvater and Peyton will work closely with other physicians affiliated with Rex's Heart & Vascular team, including cardiologists and vascular and thoracic surgeons. They also will join the UNC faculty led by Andy C. Kiser, M.D., who in July was named chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, another positive example of the partnership between Rex and the UNC Health Care System.
"We are pleased to have the two leading cardiothoracic surgeons in our community join Rex," said David Strong, president of Rex Healthcare. "They have practiced at Rex for many years and have outstanding reputations for high quality care."
Rex Cardiothoracic Surgery Specialists will begin seeing patients on Oct. 24. The practice's new office is located on Rex's main Raleigh campus at 2800 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 403. For more information, call the practice at (919) 784-7110.
