RALEIGH, N.C. – For the second straight year, Rex Healthcare has been recognized by the Talent Board, a nonprofit organization focused on the promotion of a positive experience for job candidates. Rex was one of only 37 winners of the Board's North American Candidate Experience Award.
"This recognition is a reflection of the positive human resources experience we hope to provide for all potential Rex co-workers," said Sylvia Hackett, Rex's vice president of Human Resources. "We continue to see more qualified applicants every year, and we strive to make sure our interactions with them are rewarding."
This year, Rex expects to receive more than 116,000 applications from more than 41,000 candidates. That's a 24 percent increase in the number of applicants from 2011. Rex expects to add more than 1,300 new hires this year.
To continue improving the experience of all job candidates, Rex conducts an employment process survey, provides status updates by email, offers career coaching by telephone to frequent applicants and more. During 2012, Rex also began to offer $2,500 co-worker referral bonuses for hard-to-fill positions.
Overall, 90 companies applied for the 2012 Candidate Experience awards, and more than 17,500 candidate surveys were completed. Other 2012 winners included AT&T, Capital One, Deloitte, Mayo Clinic and PepsiCo.
The awards are based on a survey-based evaluation process that included three rounds. Round one consisted of a comprehensive employer survey that addressed how companies produce their candidate experience. In the second round of the competition, the Talent Board administered a candidate survey of the company's 2012 employment candidates. Round three entailed an evaluation by a panel of expert judges.
