RALEIGH, N.C. - In recognition of American Heart Month in February, Rex Healthcare is partnering with Triangle-area organizations to promote heart health education and awareness. For more information about any of the initiatives, visit rexhealth.com/heart-month.
- Applebee's HeartAware Gift Cards - All Month
To learn the basics of heart health, Rex encourages local residents to participate in HeartAware, a free, confidential, Internet-based heart risk assessment program available at uncrexheartaware.com. Everyone who completes a HeartAware assessment during February and provides their mailing address will receive a $5 meal pass that can be redeemed at Applebee's restaurants in the Triangle-area, while supplies last. The HeartAware assessment asks participants to answer a series of questions about their health, family background and lifestyle habits and then immediately produces a personalized report on the respondent's risk factors for heart disease. People with high risk factors can receive a free follow-up screening with a clinician at Rex or UNC Hospitals.
- Carolina Hurricanes Healthy Heart Partnership - All Month
Rex and the Carolina Hurricanes are partnering to promote healthy hearts. Visit facebook.com/rexhealthcare to share a story about a friend or loved one who has the most giving heart. You could be one of three lucky storytellers who will get to meet Hurricanes players and enjoy VIP hospitality at a hockey game!
