Rex Healthcare Announces Chairmen for the 2013 Rex Hospital Open

Hall of Fame Golfer Billy Casper and CAPTRUST Executive Jimmy Talton sign on to Co-chair Event 

RALEIGH, N.C. – Rex Healthcare has recruited World Golf Hall of Fame member Billy Casper and CAPTRUST Senior Vice President Jimmy Talton as co-chairs for the 2013 Rex Hospital Open. The Open has been a key date for golf players and fans for more than two decades, and this year's tournament looks to continue that tradition.

"We are honored to welcome Billy and Jimmy as co-chairs for this event. Distinguished PGA TOUR support and prominent local business CAPTRUST shows how important this event is to our community," said Carson Gilbert, tournament director of the Rex Hospital Open. "Both individuals bring great authority and will help to enhance the visibility of Rex Healthcare's desire to provide the best patient care via the Rex Hospital Open events and activities this year." 

With an impressive 51 PGA TOUR wins during his career, professional golfer Billy Casper is known as one of the most accomplished golfers to ever play the game. Casper has won The Masters, two U.S. Opens,  nine Champions/Senior Tours and the Vardon Trophy five times. Casper was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978 and the PGA Hall of Fame in 1982 and continues to be one of golf's most notable players.

Jimmy Talton serves as senior vice president and financial advisor at CAPTRUST and places a high priority on being involved in his community. He began his career in the investment advisory services industry in 1993 when he joined Interstate Johnson Lane's Investment Consulting Group, which eventually became CAPTRUST. Talton currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools of Wake County and is a vestry member for Holy Trinity Church.

The Rex Hospital Open is an official week-long event on the PGA TOUR's Tour. It will take place June 16-23 at TPC Wakefield Plantation in North Raleigh. Rex charity golf has raised more than $7 million to support programs and services at Rex Hospital. Funds raised from the 2013 event will benefit Rex Heart & Vascular programs and services.
