Rex Hospital Honored Among Nation’s Top 100 Orthopedic Hospitals by Becker's

Rex Earns Recognition for Reputation, Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center

RALEIGH, N.C.– Becker's Hospital Review has named Rex Hospital as one of the 100 Hospitals With Great Orthopedic Programs, reinforcing Rex's growing national reputation for joint replacements and other procedures.

The annual list includes orthopedic surgery departments, programs and dedicated centers around the country that have earned recognition for orthopedic excellence from U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CareChex and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Qualifying hospitals were selected based on clinical accolades, quality care and contributions to the field of orthopedics. Hospitals could not pay to be included on the Becker’s list.

Becker's cited Rex's team of renowned orthopedic surgeons, which includes physicians from Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic, Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina and more. Becker’s also noted that last year Rex partnered with Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic to open Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center. The joint venture is a one-stop outpatient facility offering a range of orthopedic services. Additionally, Blue Cross Blue Shield designated Rex as a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacements.

"Rex is honored to be named one of the country's top hospitals for orthopedic care and services," said Steve Burriss, chief operating officer at Rex. "This recognition reminds us that the quality and excellence that our physicians and co-workers strive for every day doesn’t go unnoticed and demonstrates why Rex continues to be a leader in the orthopedic care field."

This recognition comes shortly after Becker's named Rex Healthcare as one of the country's Top 100 Cardiac Hospitals for 2013.
