More people are surviving cancer, thanks to groundbreaking cancer research, including clinical trials. We have a better understanding of cancer and how it responds to treatment because of the patients, doctors and researchers who participate in clinical trials around the world.

UNC REX Cancer Care conducts clinical trials in collaboration with the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ongoing cancer research includes studies evaluating early detection and screening, diagnostics, quality-of-life and supportive care, as well as cancer treatment and prevention clinical trials.

With the collective help of doctors, researchers and patients, clinical trials are able to test the value of the latest findings of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and other world-renowned institutions. Clinical trials not only give hope to patients whose cancer has not responded to other treatment options but they also lead to safer, more effective treatments for future patients.
