Rex Hospital Diabetes Education

Our program is certified by the American Diabetes Association and supports learning for adolescents and adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Our certified diabetes care and education specialists are committed to providing our community with comprehensive diabetes education. 

Services

Educational and counseling services 

  • Individual learning sessions on managing all types of diabetes
  • Classes to help you manage your diabetes, covering behavior change, healthy eating, exercise, glucose monitoring and medication support
  • Monthly cooking demonstrations
  • Quarterly diabetes support group 

What to bring to your appointment 

Please bring the following: 
  • Your insurance card and any authorization your insurance company may need
  • A list of your current medications, including over-the-counter medications
  • A list of questions and concerns to discuss with your provider
  • Blood sugar log and glucometer/continuous glucose meter if applicable
