For GPS purposes, please use 2800 Blue Ridge Road so you are entering the correct side of campus. We are located on the 2nd floor of the NC Heart & Vascular hospital, which is beside the 2800 building.

Rex Hospital Diabetes Education

Our program is certified by the American Diabetes Association and we support learning for adults with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. Our certified diabetes care and education specialists are committed to providing our community with comprehensive diabetes education. 

Services

Educational and counseling services 

  • Individual learning sessions on managing all types of diabetes
  • Classes to help you manage your diabetes, covering behavior change, healthy eating, exercise, glucose monitoring and medication support
  • Monthly cooking demonstrations

What to bring to your appointment 

Please bring the following: 
  • Your insurance card and any authorization your insurance company may need
  • A list of your current medications,?including over-the-counter medications
  • A list of questions and concerns to discuss with your provider
  • Blood sugar log and glucometer/continuous glucose meter if applicable
