UNC Rex Hospital Day Infusion is an outpatient department inside UNC Rex Hospital, staffed by nurses who specialize in infusion therapies.  

Conditions We Treat 

We provide infusions to non-oncology patients used to treat a variety of conditions, such as: 

  • Autoimmune disease 

  • Rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid conditions 

  • Dehydration due to nausea, diarrhea or vomiting 

  • Gastrointestinal tract diseases 

  • Neurovascular disease  

  • Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, congestive heart failure

UNC Rex Hospital Day Infusion provides a wide range of infusions (including but not limited to): 

  • Actemra (tocilizumab) 

  • Albumin (a liver protein) 

  • Blood products 

  • Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide) 

  • Electrolyte infusions 

  • IV antibiotic therapy 

  • IV fluids 

  • IV iron (Infed, Feraheme, Venofer, Ferrlecit) 

  • IVIG 

  • Reclast (zoledronic acid) 

  • Remicade (infliximab)  

  • Rituxan (rituximab) 

  • Simponi (golimumab) 

  • Solumedrol (methylprednisolone) 

  • Therapeutic phlebotomy 

  • Vaccine injections
