Yoga ClassesBeginning/Continuing Yoga This class will address the needs of the novice yogi as well as those students who are seeking to continue and deepen their practice. We will practice deep breathing, stretching, yoga asanas (postures), body awareness, and mindfulness. Come experience the deep relaxation and physical/physiological benefits of yoga. Become more flexible in mind and body. This class series is a 10-week session. Cost is $90 for members; $110 for non-members.
Prenatal Hatha Please join us for a series of classes that focus on the physical, mental and emotional aspects of pregnancy and the well-being of expectant mothers. Breathing techniques, movement and conscious relaxation are a part of this dynamic class series and help promote a healthy pregnancy as well as prepare mothers for labor and delivery. The class is a six-week session. Cost is $54 for members; $66 for non-members.
Postnatal Hatha Yoga The big day has arrived and you have a new bundle of joy! And now you can enjoy a unique yoga class that gives new moms and babies time to bond and have fun with each other through movement, relaxation and baby massage. This dynamic and nurturing yoga practice was created for your postpartum body and helps tone abdominal muscles and restore strength and flexibility. Babies learn body awareness by exploring movement and massage with mommy. Infants must be between 6 weeks and 6 months old and not yet crawling, rolling or scooting to attend. A doctor's release is required for mom. The class is a six-week session. Cost is $54 for members; $66 for non-members.
Mommy & Me Yoga Postnatal yoga for moms and babies has several benefits including a gentle and effective practice to tone/strengthen your body that supports recovery from the stresses of giving birth, a great way to have fun with your baby, a practice that eases the stress of sleep deprivation and promoting confidence in your new role. You will enjoy some special one-on-one time with your baby while also having your physical and emotional needs met. Babies will enjoy the attention while receiving gentle massage that encourages their natural flexibility and growth. Come join other moms and babies for a special yoga class in a very supportive, nurturing, and fun atmosphere. Note: Babies 6 weeks to 6 months who are NOT yet mobile are invited to attend. Mindfulness Yoga Relax, breathe, stretch and strengthen. During this six- or 10-week session, learn to increase concentration and focus as you practice being present with your body. This class is structured to start with gentle movement and gradually build strength, flexibility and endurance of the body and mind. Chair Yoga For anyone that is new to yoga, recovering from an injury, has limited mobility, or wants to start yoga with a gentle approach. Chair Yoga poses were specially developed to be performed while seated in a chair. For those that can stand, there are poses that can be done using the chair for suppport. in this calss you will learn poses that will help stretch your hands, wrists, arms, upper back, hips, lower back and feet. Best of all, you can perform these poses in your office, an airplane seat, your home or anywhere else you have a chair available for use. Cost for a six-week session is $54 for member; $66 for non-members.
Yoga Fundamentals Always wanted to try yoga but didn't know where to begin? Welcome newbies! Work on strength and stability, balance, flexibility and relaxation. The sessions are tailored to your needs based on our fitness goals. Cost includes pre and post assessment, goal setting and hands on instruction. Maximum of six participants in a private group. Tai Chi Classes
Tai Chi for Fall Prevention & Intermediate Tai Chi Tai chi is an evidence based exercise. It helps to prevent falls and improve health and the quality of life. The objective of tai chi is to achieve physical balance by strengthening muscles and improving coordination, ehile at the same time improving mental balance.
Practicing the principles is how tai chi works. Tai chi movements are slow, smooth and continuous, helping to strengthen internal muscles, like the the deep stabilizers that support and strengthen the spine. Slow and smooth movements calm the mind. Tai chi practitioners are mindful, in addition to emphasis on upright and suple posture, further stregthens muscles. Tai chi is an internal art, wich stresses the integration and balance of mind and body. Tai chi practitioners focus, calm their minds, and loosen and relax their joints and ligaments. Tai Chi for Energy Tai Chi , although a martial art, is practiced primarily for its health benefits. Scientific studies shows that it helps chronic conditions such as arthritis, heart disease, respiratory disease,s and diabetes. Tai Chi also improves balance, prevents falls and reduces stress. In this class you will learn a yang style beginner's set of 7 movements, warm-ups/cool-down exercises, and ai gong breathing. This class is great for all levels.
